Individual Note:
Joseph was the only son that "strayed" from the German Reformed Faith and likewise the only son that did not fight in the Revolutionary war. Still, it is recorded in the Pennsylvania Archives, Joseph donated blankets, etc. to that cause.

According to information furnished by Joe Bosseman on April 16, 1997 the following was mentioned. "Joseph had 2,227 1/2 acres of land surveyed on Dec. 5, 1785 in Washington Co., MD. This was a land Patent. The land was named; "Settled in Time." I doubt if he settled this land as he removed to area of Frankstown, PA about this time."

Maryland Records -- Dorchester County - "State of His Lordship's Manor, 1766, 1767, 1768, Rent Rolls -- Partial Census."
(This land was part of the private estate of Frederick VI, last Lord Baltimore (b. 6 Feb. 1731/1732 - d. 1771) and was sold by private sale, before the Revolution or by the Intendant of the Revenue as confiscated British property. The land was not sold under their Manor names, but as seated farm lands.)
p. 46--45, July 27, 1762, Joseph Rench leased 172 acres of manor land in Dorcaster County, MD from Christopher Plunk, tenant in possession; annual rent: 1-14-5; Fines Due: 3-8-10; Leased for period of 21 years.
