In 1866 he and Sarah Ann Edward David (age 3) and Manly Huggins (age 1) moved to a farm in Delaware County, Indiana, south of Eaton.

In 1871, moved to a farm 5 mi. north of Muncie, Ind., where John Stutsman, Jr., was born (Aug. 5, 1871).

Mar, 1871, W.R. was "called to the ministry" in the Missouri News Church.
During this time he travelled over much of Ind. and Oh. doing evangelical work.
1881, final move, to a farm 3 mi. south and east of Milford, Ind. He was active in Solomon's Creek Church and later he and son Many started Bethel Church in Milford, Ind.

He served as Reading clerk at the National Annual Meeting of the Brotherhood in 1885 in Mexico, PA, and as moderator of the meeting in 1898 in Napierville, Ind.
He retired from his farm in later life; he and Sarah Ann moved to Milford, where she died May 31, 1912. She was buried in Salem Churchyard cemetery June 4.

"W.R." was born on a farm north and west of Pleasant Hill, Ohio near other Deeter families who had lived in that vicinity since his grandfather David had moved there in 1815.

He began to teach school at age 18, and taught for 8 years near his birthplace.
