John left Greenville Dec. 27, 1942, sent to Atlantic City, NJ; Omaha, Nebraska; Fresno, California; shipped overseas Nov. 27, 1943; with the 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group and later with the 440th Air Service Group.
