Individual Note:
     George and Susannah are listed in the 1776 Maryland Colonial Census in Frederick Co., Maryland: George Dunn 23, Susanna Dunn 17, and John Dunn age 1, according to Kathy Gulbis Nov. 10, 2003.

1800 U.S. Federal Census had George Dunn, Sr. living in Washington Co., Maryland in the Fort Frederick Hundred. He is recorded on image #3. There is one free white male age 45 and over, one age 16 thru 25, one age 10 thru 15, and one age under 10 years. There is one free white female under 10 and one 10 thru 15.

     Record of John Schnebly family taken from pages 289, 290, etc. from the book "Biographical Annals of Franklin Co., PA," reprint 1978. After the death of his first wife Catharine Rench Schnebly, John remarried to Miss Catharine Wetzel of Stanton, VA, by whom he had no children. All 11 children were by his first wife, Catharine Rench.

Individual Note:
     Dr. Henry Schnebly, emigrated to America in 1750, landing in New York. After recovery from an illness, he went to Washington County, Maryland, then part of Frederich County, where he began to practice medicine. He acquired a tract of land called "Garden of Eden", five miles north of Hagerstown. At death he was one of the largest land holders in the county. He also owned land in Kentucky, West Virginia. He married first Elizabeth Shafer. They had four sons, Henry, John, Jacob and David, and one daughter, Elizabeth. Mrs. Schnebly died in September 1793 and he married Mrs. Margaret Houseman; who died Aug. 30, 1804. Mr. Schnebly died July 2, 1805.

     He migrated to Peoria, IL in the fall of 1835. From page 291 of the book "Biographical Annals of Franklin Co., PA." He was buried in Sprindgale Cem., Peoria, Peoria Co., IL. Joe Bosserman and Joyce Melnar.
