From Trudy Moore, a newspaper clipping dated June 7, 1973 (no paper title given) --
"Fryer retires after 40 years of service" is title. "Lock Haven - After 40 years in teh meat business, Bruce Fryer of 461 S. Water St., Mill Hall, has retired from Comet Markets and meatmanaging. His four-decade career ended Friday, June 1. Mr. Fryer's occupational biography begins prior to World War II, when he managed McGuire's store on Main St. in Mill Hall for 11 years. During the war he decided to go into business for himself. Meat was difficult to obtain, however, and Marrison's Abattoir in Salona opened a retail outlet which put Fryer's store out of business in just three years.
Morrison offered Fryer a managerial position in his retail department, and Fryer accepted. He stayed with Morrison until the shop burned out five years later. After that he served as assistant meat manager at Sohmer's Market for 12 years, IGA meat manager for seven years and remained in the same capacity there - when Comet took over the store last year.
During his retirement days, Mr. Fryer plans to fish and travel and 'see my many friends.'"

Katherine apparently had another son before marrying Bernard R. Myers, but apparently was not married. After her death, we don't know what happened to him. was he with her in Louisiana? Did relatives there raise him? Glenn was raised by his maternal grandmother, Laura Mae Banks and grandfather Major Will Banks in Huntington, W. VA. Perhaps the child's father took him? Katherine had red hair.
