Emanuel was wounded in the battle near Murfreesboro, TN and died on Feb. 18, 1863. He was a member of Co.I, 94th Reg. OVI, where 2 officers and 52 enlisted men were killed or mortally wounded at the Battle of Stone's Creek. Both Emanuel and his brother David were buried in the Old Harris Creek Cemetery in Adams Twp., Darke Co., OH.

OVI, where 2 officers and 52 enlisted men were killed or mortally wounded during the existance of the unit. Both David and his brother Emanuel received mortal wounds during the Battle of Stone's River and were buried in the Old Harris Creek Cemetery in Adams Twp., Darke Co., OH.
