     Obit. for Wanda Pifer. "Wanda Pifer, 90 retired college laundry worker Lock Haven - Wanda Pifer, 90, of 557 W. Church St., Lock Haven, die Sunday, July 16, 1995 at her home. Born Feb. 25, 1905, in Germany, she was the daughter of Wilhelm and Martha Hendon Gebauer. Mrs. Pifer retired in 1969 from the laundry department of the former Lock Haven Teacher's College. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 71 years, Charles A. Pifer. Surviving are two sons, Richard R. Pifer of Lock Haven and Charles W. Pifer of Franklin Lakes, N.J.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

children in Logansville, Greene Township, Clinton Co. Pa. They also
had a Sarah Deis, b1830 living with them.

George Wesson provided Family Sheet showing her birthdate as October
31, 1807. Her grave marker says died October 1, 1853; Aged 45
years, 11 months, 13 days. Arithmetic makes birthdate to be October
17,1807

Mary was buried in Union Cem., Clinton Co., PA.

     1880 Census has living in Williamsport, PA, 7th Ward. He was employed in a tannery. The 1910 ceensus has them living in Williamsport yet at 2020 Federal Ave. Married for 35 years. She mothered 11 children, 9 living, and 4 at home this census. He employed by railroad.-Dick Deise, March 1998.

     James was a lawyer of considerable ability. He was elected District Attorney in 1868, re-elected in 1871 and 1874. He died in 1875, 41 years old.

c1870 has family living in the 2nd Ward of Lock haven. James, Lizzie, William and Josephine along with two others; matildday Taylor, b 1844 Ohio and Margaret Englet, b1856 PA.
