Individual Note: Nicholas Peffley was a member of the German baptist "Dunkers". He was marNicholas Peffley was a member of the German baptist "Dunkers". He was married in Germany c. 1723. He was a member of the "Palantinites", shipping from Rotterdam, Holland, in a 74 family group of 180 persons, on the ship "Mortenhouse", Mastered by James Coulter. The ship departed from the port of Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, on 21 June, 1729, arriving in Philadelphia on 19 August 1729.

Family on board were himself, his wife, Barbara Barn Peffley, and their son Jacob Peffley.
Note: Nicholas is often erroniously referred to as Nicholas O. Peffley, the O. was his mark, and was not a part of his name.
