with his parents to Labette Co., KS, near Altamont in 1900. He graduated from
County grade school at the age of eleven, the youngest of a class of
forty-nine, and from Parsons High School in 1914. He served as a corporal with
Base Hospital No. 87, 2nd Army, A. E. F., Lt-Gen Bullard, during WW I, 1918-19.
He attended Parsons Junior College, Parsons, KS; Knox College, Galesburg,
ILL.; ans Kansas State Teachers College, Pittsburg, KS. He worked in banks for
three years, finally as assistant cashier. He has been a Boy Scout Executive
for nine years, and teacher, head of the Science Department, Junior High School
the past six years. Arthur was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary
Club and an Elder of the Presbyterian Church. Home address as of 1938: 208 N.
