Obittuary written for the Petersburg press -
"Mrs. Anna Wilton was born in Somersetshire, England, A. D. 1797. She with her husband, Richard Wilton, came to American in 1858. They lived in Illinois. In 1880 Mr. Wilton died. Mrs. Wilton remained at her home until a short time ago when Mr. R. H. Wilton broght her to his home in Boone Co., Nebraska, that he might care for her the remainder of her days. Her health had been declining for quite a while. Tuesday, June 5th, she was taken very ill and on the 8th she passed quietly away. Her funeral services were conducted by the write at the residence of Mr. R. H. Wilton, Saturday, June 9th. After which she was quietly intered in the cemetery near Petersburg, Nebraska. We hope to meet her in the sweet by and by. -- W. A. Wilson."

Individual Note:
George married Rebecca Tobias and lived in Covington, Miami Co., OH. On the 1900 census George was listed as being a day labor. On that census Rebecca reported herself as the mother of three children, two still living. George's obituary in the "Miami Union" states "a life long citizen of Covington" and names his surviving siblings and children. His funeral was held from his home at the corner of South Pearl and Dodds Streets, Rev. W. W. Kent and the Odd Fellows Lodge conducting. JHB, April 16, 1997.

According to Jeff Knoop, great grandson of Rebecca and George Rench (e-mail, July Sun. July 18, 1999), Rebecca wrote an extensive family history pertaining to Rench people in the Miami Co., OH area. She mentioned "an unnamed sister of Otho who lived in Cherry Tree, PA and married a Mr. Kinsports." Thanks, Jeff, for the info. Very interesting.

Gideon is shown on the 1900 census as a farmer at Covington, OH. His wife Hannah (1863-1935) was married first to a Mr. Stone, and second to Gideon Rench on Nov. 3, 1881. She was nee Steinhilber. Gideon was living "at Covington" at the time of his brother George's death in 1919.

Hannah was first married to Mr. Stone, and second to Gideon Rench. On the 1900 census of Covington, she stated that she had a total of six children and that all were still living. There were five Rench children in the household that year so one of the six children was likely by her first marriage to Mr. Stone.
